Heute begann ich endlich wieder zu schreiben... an diesem, meinem neuen Reiseblog über die Kapverden. : ) Ich geniesse mein Apartment hier im Las Rochas (https://lasrochasmindelo.com) und das Schreiben mit dieser fantastischen Aussicht und kapverdischem Kaffee aus Sant Antao fällt echt nicht schwer... : )

In Sant Antao soll es bedeutend fruchtbarer und grüner sein als auf dem kargen Sao Vicente... viel Obst, Gemüse und sogar Kaffee wird auf die andern Inseln exportiert. Ich hab mich auch über Wasser informiert - ein leides Thema, denn es regnet eher selten und Wasser ist rar... nur auf Sant Antao, Santiago und Fogo gibt es natürliche Quellen... Und was Recycling angeht, ist es hier eine Katastrophe - auch viel Abfall am Strand und mit dem Wind überall!

Today I finally started writing again... on this, my new travel blog about Cape Verde. : ) I enjoy my apartment here at Las Rochas (https://lasrochasmindelo.com) and writing with this fantastic view and Cape Verdean coffee from Sant Antao is really not difficult... : )

Sant Antao is said to be significantly more fertile and greener than barren Sao Vicente... a lot of fruit, vegetables and even coffee is exported to the other islands. I also did some investigations about water - a very difficult subject because it rarely rains and water is scarce... only Sant Antao, Santiago and Fogo have natural springs... And as far as recycling is concerned, it's an absolute disaster here - also much waste on the beaches and with the wind everywhere!

Papaya saft im / -juice at the Lua de Mel, Sao Pedro, Sao Vicente, Cabo Verde

Am Nachmittag unternahm ich eine kleine Tour (10 Minuten Fahrt) ganz in den Westen nach Sao Pedro. Ein wilder Strand erwartete mich und ich wanderte weiter bis ich nach 1 Stunde den Leuchtturm Dona Amelia erreichte... was für eine atemberaubend Wanderung! Und dann wieder 1 Stunde alles zurück mit einer Papayasaftpause zur Belohnung in der Lua de Mel am Strand von São Pedro. : ))

In the afternoon I took a small tour (10 minutes drive) all the way to the west to Sao Pedro. A wild beach awaited me and I continued hiking until I reached the Dona Amelia lighthouse after 1 hour... what a breathtaking hike! And then 1 hour back with a papaya juice break as a reward at the Lua de Mel on the beach of São Pedro. : ))

Da ich jetzt schon ein Mietauto (https://web.facebook.com/NewCarTopCar) hatte, profitierte ich davon und fuhr am Abend ins Städtchen Mindelo... im Nautilus (https://m.facebook.com/447339342330060) genoss ich mein Abendessen mit kapverdischem Weisswein aus Fogo. Hier wie vielerorts in der Stadt wird live Musik gespielt... dies erinnert mich etwas an Trinidad in Kuba (http://franziskaaeschbach10.blogspot.com)...

Since I had a rental car (https://web.facebook.com/NewCarTopCar), I took advantage of it and drove gor dinner to Mindelo... I enjoyed it with Cape Verdean white wine from Fogo in the Nautilus (https://m.facebook.com/447339342330060). Live music is played here, as in many other places in town... which reminds me a bit of Trinidad in Cuba (http://franziskaaeschbach10.blogspot.com)...
