Der letzte Tag auf Sal begann spannend: Am Morgen sah ich im Internet einen Flug von Santiago nach Fogo für kommenden Samstag und machte mich gleich auf zum Reisebüro Isi (https://isitourism-caboverde.com/st_location/cabo-verde/sal-2) und Sharon beschaffte ihn mir! Nur, wie komme ich wieder zurück nach Santiago? Alle Rückflüge waren für die kommenden 2 Wochen ausgebucht und eine Warteliste gibt es bei Bestfly nicht... dann muss ich wohl oder übel eine 6-stündige Überfahrt mit der Fähre in Kauf nehmen??

The last day on Sal started excitingly: In the morning I saw a flight from Santiago to Fogo for next Saturday on the internet and went straight to the travel agency Isi (https://isitourism-caboverde.com/st_location/cabo-verde/sal-2) and Sharon got it for me! But how do I get back to Santiago? All return flights were fully booked for the next 2 weeks and Bestfly doesn't have a waiting list... thus I have to accept a 6-hour ferry crossing, willy-nilly?

Am Mittag joggte ich mit starkem Wind ein letztes Mal barfuss den Strand von Santa Maria, Sal. Ich durfte Sonia & Gerrit's Apartment im Porto Antigo 2 (https://www.facebook.com/portoantigo2) heute benutzen bis ich mich auf zum Flughafen machen würde. : )

At noon I went for a barefoot run on the beach of Santa Maria one last time with a strong wind. I was allowed to use Sonia & Gerrit's apartment at Porto Antigo 2 (https://www.facebook.com/portoantigo2) until I left for the airport. : )

Um 15 Uhr war ich bereit und hatte noch Zeit den Osten von Santa Maria zu erkunden, dort war ich bisher noch nicht. Ich lud mein Gepäck ins Mietauto und fuhr los...

Um 16:30 Uhr hatte ich mit Samira abgemacht, sie würde mich mit ihrem Mietwagen zum Flughafen fahren und meine Kaution mitbringen. Das klappte, nur wollte sie mir statt der Escudos, die ich ihr gab, Euros geben (schlechteren Kurs) und dann noch Geld fürs zum Flughafen bringen... Sie versuchte es einfach nochmals! : ( Als ich energisch wurde sagte sie, sie sei müde und habe unsere Abmachungen vergessen... ich entgegnete ihr, dass ich auch müde bin und zwar von diesem Theater und ich würde in meinem Blog darüber berichten! Plötzlich ging alles - schade! Zudem hab ich rausgefunden, dass sie einen Namen (M&M) wie der einer andern Autovermietung (Mendes & Mendes) benutzt... vielleicht auch deren Flyer?

Wir erreichten den Flughafen von Sal 1 1/2 Stunden vor Abflug - was für ein akribisches Prozedere in einem solch kleinen Flughafen für einen Inlandflug! Dann wurde der Flug nach Sao Nicolau abgesagt, mit dem ich zuerst liebäugelte... und wir nach Praia warteten und warteten... eine geschlagene Stunde! Um 19:30 Uhr endlich startete die Bestfly-Maschine (https://bestflycaboverde.com) in Sal und es war wieder ein Nachtflug – zu dunkel für Fotos! : (

At 4:30 pm I had agreed with Samira that she would drive me to the airport in her rental car and bring my deposit with her. That worked out, but instead of the escudos I gave her, she wanted to give me euros (worse exchange rate) and money to bring me to the airport... She just tried again! : ( When I got energetic, she said she was tired and forgot our arrangements... I replied that I'm tired too but from this fuss and I would write about it in my blog! Suddenly everything worked - too bad! I also found out that she uses a name (M&M) like that of another car rental company (Mendes & Mendes)... maybe their flyer too?

We reached Sal airport 1 1/2 hours before departure - what a meticulous procedure in such a small airport for a domestic flight! Then the flight to Sao Nicolau, which I first thought about taking, was cancelled... and we waited and waited for Praia... a solid hour! At 7:30 pm finally Bestfly (https://bestflycaboverde.com) took off from Sal and it was another night flight - too dark for photos! : (

Oasis Atlantico Praiamar, Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde

Nach einem 45-minütigen Flug nahm ich in Praia ein Taxi und Nice brachte mich zum Oasis Atlantico Praiamar (https://www.facebook.com/HotelOasisAtlanticoPraiamar), das mir ein super Angebot gemacht hatte... Als ich ankam erhielt ich dann noch ein Upgrade für ein herrliches Meersichtzimmer mit Terrasse - endlich werde ich wieder wie eine Prinzessin behandelt! ; ) Nach einem leckeren und späten Abendessen im Hotelrestaurant fiel ich todmüde ins bequeme Bett...

After a 45 minutes flight I caught a taxi in Praia and Nice took me to the Oasis Atlantico Praiamar (https://www.facebook.com/HotelOasisAtlanticoPraiamar) who had given me a great deal... When I arrived I was even upgraded to a lovely sea view room with terrace - finally I am treated like a princess again! ; ) After a delicious and late dinner in the hotel restaurant I fell dead tired into the comfortable bed...

Am Freitag erwachte ich mit herrlicher Aussicht... auch was das Frühstück betraf! Früh zum Arbeiten holte ich mir einen doppelten Espresso und sah, was für ein grossartiges Buffet mich erwartet, wenn sich der Hunger meldet. Und Arbeiten am PC mit super Internet war speditiv und machte endlich wieder Spass! : )

On Friday I woke up with a beautiful view... also what breakfast was concerned! I grabbed a double espresso early for work and saw what a great buffet awaited me when I got hungry. And working on the PC with super internet was speedy and fun again! : )

Plato-Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde

Am Nachmittag spazierten ich der Küste entlang nach Plato, dem Zentrum der Stadt Praia auf einem Plateau: 2.5 km und 1/2 h. Heute fühlte ich das erste Mal Wärme und ich konnte ein luftiges Kleidchen tragen.

In the afternoon I walked along the coast to Plato, the centre of Praia on a plateau: 2.5 km and 1/2 hour. Today I felt warmth for the first time and I was able to wear an airy dress.

Den Abend verbrachte ich in der Nähe des Oasis Atlantico Praiamar, dort, woher die Musik kam... und es einige ansprechende Restaurants gibt. Ich wählte das S7ven (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083018874630&locale) und verspeiste ein leckeres Thunsteak auf Kartoffelstock mit Gemüse und Cha, Weisswein aus Fogo. : )

I spent the evening near the Oasis Atlantico Praiamar, where the music came from... and there are some nice restaurants. I chose the S7ven (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083018874630&locale) and had delicious tuna steak on mashed potatoes with vegetables and Cha, white wine from Fogo. : )
