Nach
einem letzten grossartigen Frühstück im Tienne del Mar (https://tienne-del-mar.business.site) war es gegen Mittag Zeit meine
Koffer im Mietauto zu verstauen und weiterziehen... Zuerst fuhr ich der
schwarzen Küste entlang nach Ribeira Grande und dann 35 km der alten Strasse
über die Berge nach Porto Novo. - Was für ein Abschiednehmen von dieser
mystischen Insel - sie zeigte sich nochmals von ihrer schönsten Seite: die 2000
m hohen Berge! : )
After a last great breakfast at Tienne del Mar (https://tienne-del-mar.business.site) it was time to put my suitcases in my rental car and move on around noon... First I drove along the black coast to Ribeira Grande and then 35 km on the old road over the mountains to Porto Novo. - What a farewell of this mystical island - it showed itself again from its most beautiful side: the 2000 m high mountains! : )

Unterwegs
sah ich Kinder nach der Schule am Strassenrand ein Rad in die Luft zeichnen -
und prompt hielt eines der wenigen Autos über diese steile Passstrasse an und
nahm sie mit. Als ein kleiner Junge mir zukreiste, hielt ich an und der süsse
Kleine stieg wie selbstverständlich ein. Er kapierte, dass er mir ein Zeichen
machen soll, wenn wir sein Zuhause erreichen, und war sichtlich glücklich diese
Strecke nicht laufen zu müssen. Etwas weiter am
Kraterrand Cova machte ich eine kleine Pause und wartete bis sich der Nebel
etwas verzog... was für eine Oase! Und eine Ruhe!!!
On the way I saw children after school drawing a wheel in the air - and promptly one of the few cars taking this steep pass road stopped and gave them a lift. When another little boy circled at me, I pulled over and the cute little one got into the car as if he does it every day. He understood that he should give me a sign when we reached his home and was obviously happy not to have to walk. A bit further at the edge of the crater Cova I took a little break and waited until the fog cleared a bit... what an oasis! And a calmness!!!

In Porto
Novo machte ich einen Stopp im Reisebüro Atlantur (https://atlantur.com), diesmal war mir Heila
mit Unterkunftssuche behilflich... die Insel Sal schien ziemlich ausgebucht zu
sein und ich hatte weniges gefunden, das mir wirklich passte... Um 15 Uhr
war ich wie abgemacht bei Novalinha (https://novalinha.cv)
am Hafen und gab Fabio meinen Mietwagen mit kleinem Schaden zurück: Ich hatte
das Auto beim Tienne del Mar in Paul sehr dicht an einer Mauer geparkt und am
ersten Morgen vergessen, dass vorne dran ein riesiger Topf stand - ich hab es
dann gehört! : ( Glücklicherweise habe ich all die Strassen hier auf Sant Antao
in den Felsen gut gemeistert - eine echte Herausforderung! Das liebe ich
natürlich, aber es gibt tatsächlich Länder, wo ich mehrmals war und niemals ein
Auto mieten würde: Indien und Ägypten! Dort herrscht schlicht weg zu viel
Verkehr und es ist nicht viel teurer einen Chauffeur zu engagieren, der alles
kennt und als Alleinreisender kann man sich etwas ausruhen und arbeiten.
In Porto Novo I made a stop at the Atlantur travel agency (https://atlantur.com), this time Heila helped me with finding accommodation... the island of Sal seemed to be pretty much fully booked and I hadn't found a lot that really suited me... As agreed I was at Novalinha (https://novalinha.cv) at the port at 3 pm and returned my rental car to Fabio with minor damage: I had parked the car very close to a wall at Tienne del Mar in Paul and on the first morning forgot that there was a huge pot in front - I heard it! : ( Luckily I mastered all the roads here on Sant Antao in the cliffs - a real challenge! Of course, I love that, but there are actually countries where I've been several times and would never rent a car: India and Egypt! There simply is too much traffic and it is not much more expensive to hire a driver who knows everything and as a solo traveller you can rest and work a little.

Ich
verliess die Insel Sant Antao mit Armas (https://nosferry.cv)
und hohem Wellengang - sich bewegen an
Bord war unmöglich… eine Stunde später erreichten wir Mindelo auf Sao Vicente und
ich wurde von Amandio von Novalinha überrascht! Die Zeit in Mindelo verging
sehr schnell, denn ich war immer noch auf der Suche nach einer Unterkunft… ich komme
um 23:10 an und tue dies nicht gerne um diese Uhrzeit… Einige Missverständnisse
mit Hotels später machte ich eine telefonische Reservation in einem grossen
Hotel, das jedoch genügend Bungalows zur Verfügung hat – ich werde es sehen…
I left the island of Sant Antao with Armas (https://nosferry.cv) and high waves - moving on board was impossible... an hour later we reached Mindelo on Sao Vicente and I was surprised by Amandio from Novalinha! The time in Mindelo passed very quickly because I was still looking for an accommodation... I will arrive at 23:10 and I don't like to search tin the middle of the night... Some misunderstandings with hotels later I made a telephone reservation in a big hotel, which however has enough bungalows available – I will see...

Zum
Abendessen lud ich Amandio ein und wir genossen crazy chicken im Crazy Chicken (https://www.facebook.com/CrazyChickenSV) –
diesmal in Mindelo. ; ) Eine Angestellte organisierte ein Taxi und Elton stand mit
seinem Pickup prompt vor der Tür, mit dem ich zum Flughafen gefahren wurde (10
Minuten). Beim Einchecken wurde mir klar, weshalb es wirklich so schwierig ist
zwischen den Inseln zu reisen: Die nette Angestellte erzähle mir, dass es nur
eine Fluggesellschaft gibt, die Bestfly (https://bestflycaboverde.com),
und die hat nur gerade 2 Flugzeuge (mit 72 Plätzen).
For dinner I invited Amandio and we enjoyed crazy chicken at the Crazy Chicken (https://www.facebook.com/CrazyChickenSV) – this time in Mindelo. ; ) An employee organized a taxi and Elton was promptly in front of the door with his pickup, with which I was driven to the airport (10 minutes). When checking in, I realized why it is really so difficult to travel between the islands: The nice employee explained me that there is only one airline, Bestfly (https://bestflycaboverde.com), and they only have 2 planes (with 72 seats).

Um 22:20 starteten
wir in Sao Vicente und 40 Minuten später landeten wir auf Sal. Das Prozedere
war sehr schnell auf dem ebenfalls kleinen Flugplatz auf Sal und draussen
erwartete mich Batcha, Amandios Cousin ein Taxifahrer. Er fuhr mich direkt zum Voi
Vila do Faro (https://www.voihotels.com/destinazioni/voi-vila-do-farol-resort)
nach Santa Maria, wo ich um 23:30 Uhr an der Reception stand! : )

At 10:20 pm we took off from Sao Vicente and 40 minutes later we landed
on Sal. The procedure was very quick at the equally small airport on Sal and
outside Batcha, Amandios cousin and a taxi driver, was waiting for me. He drove
me straight to Voi Vila do Faro (https://www.voihotels.com/destinazioni/voi-vila-do-farol-resort)
in Santa Maria, where I was at the reception at 11:30 pm! : )
