Das
Wetter hier auf Sao Vicente ist momentan perfekt um mich zu akklimatisieren:
bewölkt mit 24 Grad am Tag und 19 Grad in der Nacht. Aber seeehr viel Wind aus
dem Norden, der die Luft merklich abkühlt... Der Wind und die Hunde in der
Nacht geben mir das Gefühl zuhause bei Eva und ihrer Familie in Galizien zu
sein...
The weather currently here on Sao Vicente is perfect for acclimatization: cloudy with 24 centigrade during the day and 19 at night. But a looot of wind from the north, which cools down the air noticeably... The wind and the dogs at night give me the feeling of being at home with Eva and her family in Galicia...

Am ersten
Morgen - eigentlich war es schon halb 2 - ging ich eine Stunde joggen um die
andere Richtung der Küste entlang zu erkunden... plötzlich befand ich mich in
Militärgebiet... trotzdem wagte ich mich zum verbotener Hügel vor... mit
herrlicher Aussicht machte ich meine Stretchingübungen bis 2 Jungs vom Militär
keuchend vor mir standen und irgendetwas von verboten quasselten... Zum Glück
hab ich erst diese Woche mit Portugiesisch begonnen, so konnte ich mit guten
Gewissens so tun als verstehe ich nichts... Manchmal ist es gut nichts zu
verstehen! Ich dehnte meine Glieder in aller Ruhe weiter und als ich fertig
war, sagte ich tchao und rannte los, langsam auf dem Lavakies den Hügel
runter... damit hatten die beiden nicht gerechnet und mussten mir nachrennen -
jetzt weiss ich weshalb ich all die Jahre trainiere! ; ) Unten wartete
natürlich ein 3. Militärkopf... aber alle 3 waren echt süss und getrauten sich
kaum sich mir zu widersetzen. : )
The first morning - actually it was already half past one - I went for an hour's run to discover the other direction along the coast... suddenly I found myself in military territory... nevertheless I ventured to the forbidden hill... with a wonderful view I was doing my stretching exercises when 2 exhausted military guys stood in front of me babbling something about forbidden... Luckily I only started to learn Portuguese this week, so I could pretend with a clear conscience that I didn't understand anything... Sometimes it is good not to understand! I calmly stretched my limbs and when I was done, I said tchao and started running slowly down the hill on the lava gravel... both of them hadn't expected anything like that and had to run after me - now I know why I've been training running all these years! ; ) Of course, a 3rd military head was waiting at the bottom of the hill... but all 3 were really sweet and hardly dared to oppose to me. : )

Am Mittwoch
marschierte ich um 13 Uhr los und der Dollarbus nach Mindelo wartete schon! ; )
Um 15 Uhr schliessen die Banken und ich wollte Geld wechseln... gut, dass ich
so früh losging, ich musste eine geschlagene halbe Stunde warten, bis ich an
der Reihe war!
Bei CV Interilhas (https://www.cvinterilhas.cv) im Hafen erkundigte ich mich nach den Fähren und ich lag ganz richtig mit meiner Vermutung: Hier auf den Kapverden geht es echt gemütlich zu, auch die Fähren muss man nicht reservieren, denn es hat immer Platz und sie gehen 2 x täglich nach Sant Antao - mein nächstes Ziel: die Nachbarinsel ganz im Nordwesten des Archipels.
On Wednesday I headed to Mindelo at 1 pm and the dollar bus was already waiting! ; ) The banks close at 3 pm and I wanted to change money... good thing I left so early, I had to wait a full half hour before it was my turn!
At CV Interilhas (https://www.cvinterilhas.cv) at the port I asked about the ferries and I was right with my assumption: Here on Cape Verde it is really chilling, you don’t have to reserve the ferries, because there is always space and they go twice a day Sant Antao - my next destination: the neighbouring island all in the north-west of the archipelago.

Nach
einem frisch gepressten Papayasaft im Kalimba (https://web.facebook.com/kalimbabeachclub) am weissen Strand Praia de
Langinha, machte ich mich auf einen anderen Rückweg ins Zentrum. So traf ich
Erico der New Car Top Car Autovermietung (https://web.facebook.com/NewCarTopCar) und mietete prompt einen JAC für 4
Tage - ein ganz komfortables chinesischen Auto! Nun konnte ich auf der
Rückfahrt sogar richtig einkaufen ohne schleppen zu müssen! : )
After a freshly squeezed papaya juice at the Kalimba (https://web.facebook.com/kalimbabeachclub) on the white beach of Praia de Langinha, I took a different route back to the centre. That's how I met Erico of New Car Top Car Rental (https://web.facebook.com/NewCarTopCar) and promptly rented a JAC for 4 days - quite a comfortable Chinese car! Now I could actually do shopping on the way back without having to carry the heavy load! : )

Abenden genoss ich das Abendessen im gegenüber vom Las Rochas (https://lasrochasmindelo.com) gelegenen
Sabor de Nos Casa (https://web.facebook.com/Sabordenoscasa).
Bei den beiden netten Ladies fühlte ich mich gleich wohl... Am 2. Abend mit
Sonnenschein Lidia erst recht! Übrigens was man hier so trinkt: Grogue
(40%-iger Zuckerrohrschnaps) und Punch (dasselbe nur mit Honig versüsst)...

Both nights I enjoyed dinner at the Sabor de Nos Casa (https://web.facebook.com/Sabordenoscasa) across
from Las Rochas (https://lasrochasmindelo.com). I felt
right at home with the 2 nice ladies... even more so on the 2nd evening with
sunshine Lidia! By the way, what do you drink here: grogue (40% sugar cane) and
punch (the same just sweetened with honey)... cheers!
